Why Are The Weights So Important?
The countdown for the Randox Health Grand National got underway on Tuesday after the weights that the horses will carry for the race were revealed. It is the first significant landmark on the road to Aintree, as gamblers were given an insight into the horses that will have to carry more weight. As the Grand National is a handicap race, the better horses in terms of ratings are required to carry more weight than horses with lower ratings.
