The Walking Dead creators are pros at leaving their audience hanging and wanting more. At the end of the first half of season seven, they accomplished that yet again, as they exited with our group uniting again to plan to fight back against Negan, while also suggesting that someone was watching them.

As you are probably aware, The Walking Dead is based on a comic of the same title, whose creators claim that they wanted to show the reader what happens 'once the zombie movie ends'. The comic, as well as the show, delves into post-apocalyptic life with true vigor, and we see not only the fight to survive but also the struggle to cope in a world that has been turned upside down. Warning: There are spoilers ahead for 'The Walking Dead.' Sunday's 90-minute mid-season finale left fans with some questions, but there's one everyone's wondering: Who was the mystery man (or woman) wearing the boots? Walking Shoes ( Mt. Hope Southern Adventures-Book 1 ) By: Lynne Gentry Walking Shoes is book one in Mt. Hope Southern Adventures series. Ms Gentry has weaved a story that will have your heart broken. She will have you laughing one minute and the next you will have tears rolling down your face.

When Rick and Aaron set out to gather supplies for Negan’s Saviors, they were watched by a mysterious character and all we could make out were some unique boots. This was without a doubt some serious foreshadowing to some type of run-in we can brace for when the second half of season seven of The Walking Dead rolls around on February 12th.

But who is the person in the boots? It’s not as earth shattering of a question as asking what’s in the box, but it’s fair to want to know if we get a new character and what kind of impact they could provide.

First, let’s consider the facts:

Rick and Aaron stumbled upon someone’s land/boat when searching for supplies. It could easily be that person – which per his sign would make him Leslie William Stanton – and then they watched them from afar. They also later located the Alexandria community.

Walking Dead Mystery Box

We don’t know if that makes them a friend or foe and it’s also not clear if they’re male or female.

What we do know is that from video already shown on The Walking Dead, there is no clear match when it comes to the boots seen at the end of the most recent episode.

There are several options here, and even after going over our favorite possibilities, we still might be wrong. Here are the leading options for the character in boots:

Dwight

Dwight is an option for two reasons: he works for Negan and could be playing watchdog, or he has been contemplating getting out from under Negan’s rule and wants to see if Alexandria is worth joining up with.

Those may both be true at the moment, but Dwight’s boots (that we’ve seen) don’t match the boots at the end of the final episode in the second half of season seven. Besides, Dwight has enough stuff to worry about. He’s not following Rick and Aaron around while they go pick up junk for Negan.

Simon

This is a pretty decent option, for a couple of reasons. For one, Daryl escaped and killed a guy, so someone from The Saviors could be out looking for him and ends up stumbling across Rick and Aaron. They also could have long ago been assigned scout duty to make sure Rick was doing as he promised and gathering up all the goodies he could find.

It could also be someone from The Saviors that, like Dwight, is contemplating bolting Negan’s group and wants to further look into the people of Alexandria before making the move. That’s possible, but nobody stands out or makes as much sense as Dwight. Needless to say, that probably rules out Simon and any Saviors members we’ve come across.

Morales

Last we saw Morales, he ditched the group to best protect his family. For all we know, that was the best decision he ever made, as he didn’t run into The Governor, Negan or any other major obstacles our favorite survivors have.

He and his family actually could have and the show just left it for us to decide, or they could have perished in an equally unfavorable way. Or Morales could be the mystery figure who returns long after he had been forgotten, much like Morgan did.

This is unlikely, but TWD fans have been talking about his possible return for years and we at least had to touch on it.

A Random Traveler

This one makes plenty of good sense, as there had been talk for a while that The Walking Dead could be introducing a new character and from what we can tell, the boots from this figure don’t give anything away. That either means they’re new boots for someone we know, boots for someone we may have seen but haven’t seen that much of, or boots on someone we’ve yet to meet.

The big question is, is this random person part of a community we’ve run into or know in the comics, or all by themselves? The latter is an idea we find hard to buy.

Boots

King Ezekiel

I don’t love the logic here, but there is one notion for it being King Ezekiel: he too is pondering an uprising or has caught wind of Carol and Morgan’s old crew and wants to take a look at them to know if they can be trusted.

Walking Dead Boots For Sale

I’m still not buying it. Not only do the boots not match, but it doesn’t really fit King Ezekiel’s M.O. He sticks around his community and “rules” and when he’s not doctoring the community morale, he’s out with his group trying to make sure The Saviors are kept happy.

There is some mild logic for this, but if anything, Ezekiel would send one of his men out to scout Rick and the Alexandria group, not go himself.

Heath

Again, no, we’re not feeling this one, either. If Heath were that close to Rick and Aaron he wouldn’t stalk them from afar. He’d get their attention so he could join back up with them. He got lost while out with Tara, which could mean he’s dead or part of a storyline with his return down the road. His return in this fashion doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t promote the suspense. If you look back at old episodes you’ll see his boots aren’t a match, either.

The Walking Dead Mystery Boots

Someone From Oceanside

This is quite plausible, as Tara got away from Oceanside before they killed her and this is a large group of women – some of which we haven’t even encountered yet. They could have stumbled upon Rick and Aaron en route to Alexandria and we know they make it to the community before the end of the second half of season 7, regardless.

Their initial intent may be bad, but more than anything, Oceanside wants to learn about Tara’s group and whether or not they’re a threat like Negan. The boots look rather large for a woman to wear, but that alone doesn’t tell us it can’t be a new female character that is watching Rick and Aaron.

A Whisperer

We haven’t been introduced to The Whisperers yet and it’s unclear when that will happen, but if you keep up with The Walking Dead rumors or how the comics go, it’s only a matter of time.

Dead Man S Boots

That is still a reach just because Negan is still so fresh and things could get very heavy very quickly with another new, extreme group. That being said, it’s tough to rule it out.

Jesus

Could Jesus be back from The Saviors’ compound already? Sure, but why would he venture off into the woods in search of Rick and Aaron? He certainly didn’t know where they would be, and he either got back to Alexandria on Negan’s truck or jumped off and had to hike by foot.

Mathematically and logically, he doesn’t make sense here, plus the boots aren’t a match from what we can tell. The motive isn’t really there, either, as if anything, Jesus would head back to the Hilltop.

The Boat Owner

This is the obvious pick, just because the person that runs into Rick and Aaron is on site as they are taking stuff off the boat. The boat owner, who named himself to be Leslie William Stanton in the sign he left as a warning should be dead based on his own words, but it’s possible he was simply away scavenging or ran out of ammo to kill trespassers.

For whatever reason, it makes perfectly good sense this person caught Rick and Aaron stealing his stuff and now may either seek retribution or to join up with our favorite survivors.

Day Of The Dead Boots

Who is the Person in Boots?

As fun as it’d be for it to be Morales – which would relieve some tension just before stuff gets super real again – that’s not going to be the case. Stanton would make a lot of sense as a potential ally who is loaded with weapons and fighting experience, but even that doesn’t fit.

Instead, the big Walking Dead rumor is that Enid may have some tie to a group we’ve never met. New photos of Rick in a junkyard talking with unknown characters further that belief. They’re probably not Oceanside or The Whisperers, so it looks like whoever the boots belong to, they’re part of a community we don’t know about yet.

WARNING: Spoilers!

Since the mid-season finale of ‘The Walking Dead’ fans have been tossing around theories about who the owner is of the mysterious pair of boots seen in two different scenes in the episode.

We can now answer that, sort of. What we can tell you is that it is NOT Dwight, or a Whisperer, or even a past character come back to scope out Alexandria. It is a completely new, never before mentioned character. The new character is not in the comics either. That’s right, fresh blood. The thing is, we have no idea what we can expect from them.

We do know a little, thanks to the Spoiling Dead. The owner of the dirty boots is a teenager, who is part of a brand new group. The group is made of all teens, and get this, they live in dumpsters. Get ready to meet “The Garbage Pail Kids”. No, that’s not their real name, but it sounds catchy doesn’t it? Odds are, the boots’ owner is not only new, a teen, and a dumpster diver, it’s a female. Reportedly, her name is Tamiel.

A new group of youngsters would explain a lot about Enid’s behavior and why she is always slipping away. We know that she’s not a spy for the Saviors and she stays too clean to be a Whisperer. She could very well could be one of the “Garbage Pail Kids”.

I can’t wait to see what the group brings to the show. Not to mention, Alexandria is going to need all the help they can get. ‘The Walking Dead’ returns this February. Get ready to see Rick and the settlements “rise up’ against Negan and the Saviors. Heads will roll.
